Currently, the two major approaches to error analysis are contrastive analysis and error analysis. Despite scholars agreement on the importance of error correction, there has been no consensus on how to correct errors and what kinds of errors need to be corrected. Thus, the author carried out a small-scaled investigation, hoping to raise the efficiency of oral English class teaching. The paper investigated into and analyzed the current situation of error correction and teachers and students attitude towards error and error correction in Hubei University of Economics (HBUE, a provincial economic university) by adopting both qualitative and quantitative analyses such as classroom observation and questionnaire.
